On Saturday, 5th April 2025 we will be celebrating Greenwoods Corner Go Green Eco Day!
Be part of the 2025 Albert-Eden & Puketapapa Eco Festival. Bring your bikes to Greenwoods Corner at 8:00am and join our local cycling group for an early morning bike ride (click here for details). Between 9:00am and 12:00 noon come along to our free Bike Kitchen Pop-Up with Mobile Bicycle Services for a health check. While your bike is getting a once-over, try an E-Bike with the Albert Eden Climate Action Network E-Bike expert and Melo Yelo E-Bikes, have a chat with the Chinese Conservation Education Trust and the Compost Collective and of course check out event day specials in our local shops! In the weeks leading up to our Go Green Eco Day, there will be a kids climate change poster competition (see below for details) with four prizes to be won. Final entries will be accepted until close of business on 5th April 2025 and all entries will need to be handed into one of four participating local cafes and bakeries (Autumn, Coffee and Tea Lovers Epsom, Greenwoods Kitchen and The General Epsom). Kindly supported by the Albert-Eden Puketapapa Eco Festival, the Albert-Eden Local Board, the Albert-Eden Climate Action Network, Mobile Bicycle Services, Melo Yelo E-Bikes, the Chinese Conservation Education Trust and the Compost Collective. Our Cracking Kiwiana Christmas stencils and competition were recently featured in the December 2024 / January 2025 edition of Onehunga Community News. A huge thank you to all our retailers, stallholders, fundraisers, schools, community groups, local representatives, entertainers, volunteers and every single one of you who came out to celebrate with us at this year's Greenwoods Corner Spring Festival.
Your support made the day unforgettable, and we couldn’t have done it without this incredible community. Here’s to Spring. To new beginnings and the magic of our village in the city. We can’t wait to welcome you back to Greenwoods Corner soon! Greenwoods Corner Epsom Business Association is delighted to offer our member businesses access to a free sustainability coaching program for a limited time.
Boost your business brand value with the complimentary services of a sustainability coach provided by the Albert-Eden Local Board. We encourage you to sign up for this program to find actions that are the right fit for your workplace. With a coach's assistance, you can reduce your carbon footprint, gain approval and recognition for your sustainability efforts, and be better positioned to save money and manage the rising cost of living with practical solutions. Please refer to the flyer for more details. Spaces for this fully funded coaching program are limited to ten of our members, so if you are interested, please register your interest as soon as possible to avoid disappointment. Registration closes 30th July 2024. Greenwoods Corner Epsom Business Association’s AGM on 20th May 2024 marked the conclusion of our fourth year of operation, during which our membership has continued to grow.
A lot has happened over the past year, from the launch of Greenwoods Corner Epsom’s Historical Walk in July to holding our inaugural Spring Festival in September, and from the installation of Festive Stencils in November to running a Pukeko Treasure Hunt Competition in the lead up to Christmas, 2023 was full of local events and activities. 2024 has, for the first time, already seen Greenwoods Corner co-host two events in April for the city-wide Eco Festival and there is much more to come in the year ahead. Please keep checking our Events page to keep up to date on upcoming events in Greenwoods Corner. The AGM provided a detailed insight into each of these recently completed projects and the committee's planned activities for the rest of the year. Immediately following the AGM, attendees reviewed and debated the expansive design changes proposed by Auckland Transport (AT) for Greenwoods Corner Business Centre. This enabled our members to have a robust discussion around AT’s proposals and provide feedback to the committee on the designs currently tabled. This has greatly helped the committee identify key issues to be raised with AT and we thank each of those members who participated and provided feedback. The business association would also like to thank the generous financial support it has received to date from the Albert-Eden Local Board and participating local businesses. Thank you must also go to our co-hosts and event partners that have worked with us throughout the year including the Epsom and Eden District Historical Society, Epsom Girls Grammar Rowing Club, Gardner Road Kindergarten, Albert-Eden Puketapapa Eco Festival, Albert-Eden Climate Action Network, Josca Bicycle Repairs, and Bike Hub Mt Roskill. Thanks to everyone who attended our Bike Extravaganza today in Greenwoods Corner.
A particularly big thanks must go to our co-sponsors for making this event possible and to our amazing hosts Richard and Dominic for sharing their knowledge and expertise with the local community. If you missed the team’s visit today, please come along to our next event at the Village Square, 579 Manukau Road, Greenwoods Corner Epsom between 11am – 1pm on 27th April. We hope to see you there! Congratulations to the winners of our Christmas Pukeko Adventure! We loved seeing all of the entries, and we hope that everyone who participated had fun. Thanks for being a part of the incredible Greenwoods Corner Epsom Community. We cannot wait to welcome you all back to our vibrant Village in the City in 2024!
