On 30th May 2022 Greenwoods Corner Epsom Business Association celebrated its second year of operation, and what a year it has been!
With multiple city-wide lockdowns in the wake of Covid-19, the past financial year has not been an easy one for small business. The resilience of our members and the hard-graft put in both by business owners and their staff must be acknowledged and celebrated. As a business centre largely serving the local community, member businesses are thankful for the continued support of local residents during these difficult times. The Business Association would also like to thank the Albert-Eden Local Board, Albert-Eden Neighbourhood Arts, the Epsom and Eden District Historical Society and our committed executive committee members for their support and commitment to Greenwoods Corner. Our recent AGM was another great opportunity for members to come together, reflect on the year that was and plan for the year ahead. A special thank you to Gaylene Brownlie for hosting our AGM at Gardner Road Kindergarten and to all of our members that were able to join us. On 24th May 2021 Greenwoods Corner Epsom Business Association celebrated its first year of operation.
Thanks to the support of our members, the Albert-Eden Local Board, Albert-Eden Neighbourhood Arts, Epsom Rotary, the Epsom and Eden District Historical Society and our committed executive committee members, we have got off to a strong start. A special thank you to Gaylene Brownlie for hosting the event at Gardner Road Kindergarten and to all of our members that were able to join us. As we begin our second year, we look forward to what the future holds for Greenwoods Corner Epsom. Your village in the city! Greenwoods Corner Epsom Business Association celebrated its establishment with a launch party on 16th November 2020. Jono Pryor (TV and Radio Personality), Rachel Langton (Albert-Eden Local Board) and Joanne Plant (Business Association President) were guest speakers at the hugely successful event.
After an initial welcome and some networking, guests were invited to participate in a “world café” event as part of the evening. The aim of this was to collect and link ideas on four key topics relevant to the focus and ongoing operation of the business association, namely:
Following the launch, the answers to each of these questions have helped the business association to identify its short, medium and long-term goals and serve as guidance to the committee to ensure that their actions and decisions reflect the interests and aspirations of their members. Guests were also asked to vote on the colour of the new canopy that the business association have commissioned for installation on the pergola at the crossroads of Manukau and Pah Roads (outside the former ASB Bank). Check out our New Canopy Installation news update for the result. Grazing table food for the event was supplied by Greenwoods Butchery, Forest Eatery Café, Ninja Sushi, Greenwoods Bakery and The General. Bouquets and floral arrangements for the event were donated by Molly Blooms. Vouchers for the event were donated by On Point Physio, Exile Hair Design and The General. We are hosting an event and you are invited. Come along and hear about our Association and share with us your vision.
