On 26th May 2025 Greenwoods Corner Epsom Business Association (GCEBA) held its AGM and Annual Networking Event and, after five years of operation, the business association continues to go from strength to strength.
During the past financial year, the business association has: provided its members with free sustainability coaching; further strengthened its relationship with CPNZ; extensively consulted and represented its members in relation to proposed safety design changes by Auckland Transport; held the phenomenally successful Greenwoods Corner Spring Festival; installed Kiwiana Christmas stencils on participating member businesses; run the "Cracker of a Christmas" competition; held the Greenwoods Corner Go Green Eco Day 2025; and run the "Greenwoods Corner Climate Change Poster Competition" for pre-school and school aged children. With further events planned for the rest of the calendar year, there are plenty of reasons to keep coming back to the Corner. At the AGM, feedback was sought from members about Auckland Transport's proposed T3 lane changes and the extent to which they would impact local businesses. This enabled members to raise and discuss their concerns in an open forum, informing the committee as to the key issues to be addressed in its submission on the consultation. The business association would like to thank Greenwoods Kitchen for hosting the AGM and the Albert-Eden Local Board for its continued support of the business association and the local businesses it represents. Public consultation is now live regarding Auckland Transport's proposed T3 transit lane changes in Epsom and Greenlane. Auckland Transport's proposal (as it most directly impacts Greenwoods Corner village and its businesses) relates to its proposed extension of the existing T3 transit lane operating hours in both directions on Manukau Road (Owens Road - Greenwoods Corner) and Pah Road (Greenwoods Corner - Trafalgar Street) along with a small section of Manukau Road heading away from Newmarket past Greenwoods Corner. Currently, the T3 transit lanes operate between 4 - 7pm. However, Auckland Transport proposes to extend the operational hours of the T3 lanes by one hour, starting an hour earlier (running from 3 - 7pm).
